Arianna Huffington
Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington (Greek American) is a Greek American writer, syndicated-columnist and businesswoman. She's co-founder and chief executive officer of Thrive Global, as well as the author of fifteen books. Arianna Huffington is an author and philanthropist as well as a television host and the owner of the independent liberal online news magazine The Huffington Post. Originally from Greece Arianna Huffington emigrated to England with her family when she was age 16. While at Cambridge University she earned a MA Degree in Economics. Being the first non-English-speaking student, she was elected President of The Cambridge Union' at age 21. After the graduation ceremony, she became a well-known conservative syndicated journalist. After a few years later, she founded The Huffington Post which featured critical commentary on the current political landscape. It was possible for her to recruit numerous prominent contributors to post their opinions on culture and politics. Arianna's celebrity status began in 2003, when she was a candidate for an independent in the California recall vote in order to replace then-Governor Davis. In addition, she led a Detroit project that promoted vehicles that are fuel efficient. Forbes named her as one of the "most powerful female" within the field of media, placing her at 12th. Guardian placed her on their list of 100 most influential media people in 2009. AOL Inc. acquired The Huffington Post in 2011 and appointed her as the president of their media company that also includes other AOL properties such as Engadget AOL Music Style list and Patch Media. Elli was born to Konstantinos Stasinopoulos, and Elli, who are both management consultants and journalists. Although she was a close friend to her father, it was her relationship with her mother that formed her entire life. Even in her formative age she demonstrated her leadership skills and is a household name. At the age of 16, she moved from the United States to the United Kingdom and enrolled Girton College Cambridge. In the years of her university, she belonged to the Cambridge Union debating group where she became the first woman president, and also the only foreign president. In 1972 she received a degree in Economics. After after graduation she became a journalist and TV host. She was on the show with Bernard Levin on an edition Face the music, and she began writing her own books with his aid.
