The parents of her are Harvey Welker who is Native American as well as Julie Welker who is African-American. Her father works in engineering and her mother is a realtor. Walker received her schooling through Germantown Friends School located in Philadelphia's Germantown area where she graduated in 1994. In 1998, she earned a bachelor's of arts diploma from Harvard College. Welker has been happily married for more than 20 years to John Hughes who is a famous marketing director at Merck Philadelphia. They are parents to two children. The couple began their affair in 2014. John her husband has an age difference of four years compared to her.
