Reese Witherspoon feetLaura Jeanne Reese Witherspoon, born on the 22nd of March, 1976, is an American actress. She has received numerous awards including an Academy Award and a British Academy Film Award. Time magazine named her one of the 100 most influential people around the globe in both 2006 and 2015 and Forbes named her one of the World's 100 Most Powerful Women in the years 2019 and 2021. Forbes declared her the world's most powerful actress in 2021. Her net worth is estimated to be 400 million. Witherspoon first appeared on screen in 1991 when she was she was a teenager. In 1999, the actress made her debut with the part of a supporting actress in Cruel Intentions. She was also famous for playing Tracy Flick as Election's black comedy. She was recognized for portraying Elle Woods in the comedy Legally Blonde (2001) and its 2003 sequel, and for her performance in the romantic comedy Sweet Home Alabama (2002). In 2005, she received critical acclaim and won the Academy Award for Best Actress in the role of June Carter Cash in the musical biopic Walk the Line. After a career slump, in which Water for Elephants (2011) was her only box-office success, Witherspoon decided to make an comeback to the industry and produce and star as Cheryl Strayed, the drama Wild (2014). The film resulted in her receiving a second Academy Award nomination for Best Actress. She has since primarily worked on television, producing and starring in a variety of female-led literary adaptations for her company Hello Sunshine. This includes Big Little Lies (2017-2018), The Morning Show (2019-20), and Little Fires Everywhere (2020) All HBO dramas. For the first of these she won the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Limited Series. She also wrote and directed the movies Gone Girl (2014), and Where the Crawdads Sing (222). She is on the board of the Children's Defense Fund (CDF) and was named Global Ambassador of Avon Products in 2007, serving as honorary chair of the foundation. Avon Foundation dedicated to women's causes.
