Lars Mikkelsen-1Lars Dittmann Mikkelsen was born 6 May 1964. He was a character in the drama series The Killing. Copenhagen mayoral candidate Troels Hartmann in the drama series The Killing, Charles Augustus Magnussen in the third series of Sherlock, the Russian president Viktor Petrov in the American House of Cards on Netflix, and Grand Admiral Thrawn in Star Wars Rebels. He was given the Reumert Prize of Honour in 2011. At the age of 27, he enrolled at National Theatre School of Denmark. He graduated from there in 1995. Apart from his role in The Killing, [1] was also a part of Borgen III, a Danish drama series that was critically acclaimed. He also had a major part in the episode of BBC drama Sherlock, where he played the blackmailer Charles Augustus Magnussen. In the American television series House of Cards he played the president of Russia. In 2018, he was awarded an International Emmy Award. His performance in the Danish TV drama Herrens Veje won him an International Emmy Award. The show aired in the UK in 2019, as Ride Upon the Storm.
